Why use Oil-less Bearing?

Oil-less Bearing (oil-less Bearing) is a bearing that requires little or no external lubrication, usually through self-lubricating materials or special design to achieve anti-friction and wear properties. They have significant advantages in many application scenarios, and the following are the main reasons for using oil-free bearings:

1. Reduce maintenance requirements

No regular addition of lubricants: Oil-free bearings are lubricated by self-lubricating materials (such as PTFE, graphite, molybdenum disulfide) or solid lubricants, reducing the need for regular refueling or grease.

Reduced maintenance costs: Reduced maintenance work and costs associated with lubrication, especially for equipment that is difficult to access or requires frequent maintenance.

2. Suitable for special environment

High temperature environment: Some oil-free bearing materials (such as graphite or ceramics) are able to work stably at high temperatures, while traditional lubricants may evaporate or fail.

Low temperature environment: under low temperature conditions, the lubricating oil may become viscous or solidified, while the oil-free bearing can still work normally.

Vacuum environment: In vacuum or space environment, traditional lubricating oil may volatilize or contaminate equipment, oil-free bearings are a better choice.

3. Corrosion resistance

Oil-free bearings are usually made of corrosion-resistant materials (such as PTFE, stainless steel or composite materials), suitable for humid, corrosive media (such as acid, alkali, seawater) environment.

4. Clean and hygienic

No pollution: oil-free bearings will not produce oil or grease leakage, suitable for food, medicine and electronics industries and other high cleanliness requirements.

Compliance with health standards: Certain oil-free bearing materials (such as PTFE) meet FDA or other health standards and can be used directly in food processing equipment.

5. Low friction and high efficiency

The self-lubricating material of oil-free bearings usually has a very low coefficient of friction, which can reduce energy loss and improve equipment efficiency.

In high-speed or precision equipment, oil-free bearings can provide more stable operating performance.

6. Long life and reliability

Oil-free bearings are usually designed with excellent wear resistance and fatigue resistance, capable of long-term stable operation under harsh conditions.

Since no external lubrication is required, the risk of failure due to inadequate lubrication or contamination is reduced.

7. Environmental protection and sustainability

Oil-free bearings reduce the dependence on lubricating oil or grease, reducing environmental pollution and resource consumption.

In some applications, oil-free bearings can be recycled or reused, in line with the concept of sustainable development.

8. Special application requirements

High load and low speed: In some applications with high load and low speed, traditional lubrication methods may not be effective in reducing friction, and oil-free bearings can provide better performance through solid lubricants or self-lubricating materials.

Maintenance-free equipment: In remote areas or difficult-to-maintain equipment, oil-free bearings can significantly reduce maintenance frequency and cost.

Brass Bearings

The main reason for the use of oil-free bearings is that they have the advantages of reducing maintenance needs, adapting to special environments, corrosion resistance, cleanliness, low friction, long life, and environmental protection. They are especially suitable for high temperature, low temperature, vacuum, corrosive environment and food, medicine, electronics and other industries with high cleanliness requirements. Oil-free bearings can not only improve the reliability and efficiency of equipment, but also reduce maintenance costs and environmental impact, so they are widely used in modern industry.
