1. What is a bi-metal bushing?
Bi-metal bushing is a two-component composite material based on the mechanics and physical complementarity between metals with different physical and chemical properties through cold bending or hot rolling, welding and other processes, which is mainly used to reduce friction and prolong service life and other wear-resistant fields.
2. What is the wear resistance of bi-metal bushing?
The wear resistance of bi-metal bushing mainly depends on its constituent materials. Commonly used ones include iron-copper, iron-aluminum, stainless steel-aluminum, etc. Depending on the application, the choice of material is different. For example, the iron-copper structure is the most widely used structure, with good wear resistance but some electrolyte corrosion problems, and the iron-aluminum structure has relatively weak wear resistance but good corrosion resistance. Experiments have shown that parts made of bi-metal bushing materials have significantly improved wear resistance compared to parts of the same material, and can also reduce the concentration and amount of lubricant.
