Q1: Must this bushing be used with lubrication?

A: No. SF-1F is an oilless self-lubricating bushing with built-in solid lubricant on the surface for dry running. Periodic light greasing can further extend service life.

Q2: What is the function of the flange?

A: The flange acts as an axial locating shoulder. After being pressed into the housing bore, the flange sits against the end face to stop the bushing from being pushed axially into the hole, removing the need for separate limit washers or retaining rings.

Q3: Can non-standard ID / OD / length be customized?

A: Custom non-standard dimensions are available. We can machine different flange thicknesses and bushing lengths per drawings. Standard sizes are in stock with shorter lead times.

Q4: What material is recommended for the mating shaft?

A: Quenched and tempered steel or hardened steel shaft is recommended, surface roughness Ra ≤0.8. Soft shafts (pure aluminum, soft copper) should be avoided as they are prone to shaft wear.

Q5: What is the difference between SF-1F and standard straight SF-1 bushing?

A: SF-1 is a straight shoulderless bushing. SF-1F has an added flange for applications requiring axial positioning to prevent displacement after installation.

Q6: What is the maximum pressure it can withstand?

A: Max static pressure reaches 250MPa. Dynamic load is suggested below 100MPa. It is designed for low-speed heavy-load applications and not for continuous high-speed rotation.
